Great closing attorney. He handled at difficult case (lien on deed) with diligence and professionalism. Sadly the seller was elderly and couldn’t help find lost paperwork. We closed on time when I wasn’t sure we would ever get it resolved

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessWe sold our home on a Monday and the buyer took the keys and moved into the home before we received our money from the lawyers office. They lied stating they didn’t have the correct information when the secretary confirmed when I called that she did have it. We closed on our house with Jason M Blackburn. The closing went very smooth. I recently called about a question referring to the taxes. I left a message with them and was assured by their recording that they would call me back. I never received a call and I had to call back a week later. I asked for a explanation of why I wasn’t called back but was not given one. I do believe a business should follow up with questions from customers.

Critical: Professionalism, ResponsivenessMy husband and I worked with Jason Blackburn and his office when we bought our first home here in Goldsboro and I have to say, I’m not impressed. During closing, Jason came off as very indifferent. He seldom looked us in the eye and made it very obvious he had more important things to deal with than to help us, apparently. He only spoke to my husband, not me. If I spoke up to ask a question, he either ignored me entirely or gave me a short answer with what seemed like irritability. We are no longer in the 1950’s, but okay. After closing, I had to call the office back a few weeks later to ask about why a check was sent to us rather than my husband’s Toyota company (it was leftover money from closing and our lender told us that Jason’s office would handle it). Rather than politely tell us that we would unexpectedly have to send it to Toyota ourselves, he cut a serious attitude with me over the phone and basically told me that it wasn’t his problem. Nice.My husband and I worked with Jason Blackburn and his office when we bought our first home here in Goldsboro and I have to say, I’m not impressed. Critical: Quality, ResponsivenessCommunication is the one thing this place lacks. If you are selling your home and you are out of state use someone else. Several times I had to call and remind them to do their job. 1st call was two weeks after realtor followed up on if Blackburn contacted us about closing paperwork. Nope. I had to call. The lady got all of our information and said she would email. Three days later with no email I had to follow up with second call. 3rd call was a follow up to make sure all was well and if they needed land deeds for closing. Lady said all is well and they did not need deeds.4th call was the day before closing because there was no follow up from previous week. Turns out there was a problem with the deeds of trust or they just didn’t actually try to find if the property was in my name. Not sure. Frantically we photographed the deeds with all the information and emailed it. No follow up with email confirmation. Day of closing I get a call from Blackburn about more documents needed signed and he sends documents without signature permission through DocuSign. Fortunately our laptop had the software to sign my wife’s name but not my name.He Resent in DocuSign. 5th call was again because there was no follow up on the deal being closed. No email no documents no information about Tax or escrow payments/reimbursements. Mysteriously 2 minutes after hanging up with another lady the Wired money was in the bank. 6th call was on the closing documents. And that was today. The house closed on the 7th.This was the worst closing I have ever had EVER. If a paying customer has to call several times to Keep remindIng a company to do their job and then on top of it to do the footwork and then do their job at the end then that is poor service with no accountability. I gave them two stars because they didn’t muck it up completely.Communication is the one thing this place lacks. If you are selling your home and you are out of state use someone else. Critical: ProfessionalismI called to ask a simple question regarding fencing and I was told that I would have to schedule an appointment and they are booked out. I told the lady I just had a simple question on if a neighbors tree falls on my fence who’s responsible for the fence and she stated that if I was trying to sue a neighbor that I would need to call somebody. I told her I’m not trying to sue I just wanted to know what the law states. She told me that that’s what you pay lawyers to research the law (they should know the law) My response was you pay lawyers to fight for you. Then she told me she couldn’t help me and hung up. Extremely unprofessional!I called to ask a simple question regarding fencing and I was told that I would have to schedule an appointment and they are booked out. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness0 stars- Horrible customer service. Blackburn didn’t answer my emails, changed my closing date one day before closing, every time I called his office, staff just made excuses and put me off. I would not recommend this group to my enemy- I didn’t hire them, I got stuck with them when the party buying my home hired them.

I bought my house in April 2016 and Blackburn was the closing attorney. Well around tax time 2017 I received a phone call from my agent asking why I have not paid me taxes for the remainder of 2016. I and multiple vack and forths with here about this and the my husband call Blackburn’s office and spoke withi him personally. Blackburn then said that it was or responsiblity to pay the taxes. My husband read the closing contract to him to show him he was mistaken. He did not take it to well apparently. I have left 4 messages within a 3 week time period with the attorneys staff and have not gotten a response. Very poor professionalism there.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueJason Blackburn is a very crass and unprofessional attorney. He gives of a very cold, partial demeanor if you know what I mean. In this climate, I refuse to give my business ever again to anyone who does not deserve it, no questions asked!!! Will never use again!
