She helped me in fighting against the insurance company of my employer of 28 years,who continued to deny my benefits. Julie was able to use her expertise as an ERiSA lawyer to help me battle the insurance company. Robin Jennings,her paralegal,is fantastic,and went above and beyond to help me with my claim. Both Julie and Robin worked very hard and spent a lot of extra time investigating,compiling,and acquiring all the information related to mt case. To my great relief Julie and her outstanding team won my case expeditiously! In life one tries to always do the right thing, you stay in school, pay your dues, one day you get hired by the fortune 500 company you’ve always dreamed about. Then ten years go by, you work hard put in the long hours, you get the corner office. You have all the benefits and perks that come with such a position, then one day you collapse, you wake up in the ER surrounded by family and loved ones. You are grateful to be alive, you are assured by your boss and co-workers that everyone misses you can hope for a speedy recovery. In the following days you meet with the many Drs that saved your life, they are still running tests but it’s unlikely you will be able to return to work anytime soon. This is my story, I worried about how I would provide for my family, HR assured me that things will be just fine, after all I work for a great company, and I have short-term and long-term disability insurance that I have diligently been paying for since day one. Then the weeks turn into months, filling out claim forms, between physical therapy sessions, as well as returning phone calls from creditors, and then one day I get the letter I had been waiting for, but rather than the first payment (60% of my normal pay as per the terms of the policy), I instead get a denial letter! The gut punch was followed by a noticeable tremor, as I re-read the letter hoping I may have misread the contents. How can this be? This must be some kind of mistake?? I work for one of the biggest companies in the world, I have all the benefits and buy ups offered, my disability insurance is with the biggest and most respected insurance companies in the world. This can’t be happening! I reach out to HR and to my dismay they tell me that their hands are tied, this is an issue between me and the insurance company.
