Made an appointment for legal consult over a month in advance, was told it was a phone consult and they would contact me the day before. One week before the appointment I called to confirm the time and see if they had any early openings on any day before. I was told 10am. On the day of appointment I waited by my phone until 10:15 in which I called in and was told Carmel was busy and that I was instructed to call in(in which I never was directed too), and that my appointment was for 9am. Receptionist told me the next appointment would be in July. Very disappointed

Never been in this situation before and I didn’t know any divorce attorneys.A paralegal friend of mine recommended Carmella. The moment I walked in for my initial interview she made me feel comfortable we talked & I decided to move forward with her. D’Amato may be conventionally attractive on the outside, but once one truly observes her, it is apparent that she is a vulture who feeds on the broken hearts of children. Her interest is only aggression in the court room, not ensuring that justice prevail. She is truly aggressive, but she fights for the dark side, and perpetuates our socioeconomic problems by doing so. If you value your soul, proceed with extreme caution. There are children being exploited, & D’Amato will defend the indefensible if the price is right.

One of the few attorneys that actually does the work herself and doesn’t rely on paralegals for everything. She is also more reasonably priced than many other attorneys. She is young and aggressive and is knowledgeable about current family law. Some of the other attorneys I have spoken with seem to be out of touch on several aspects of the law.

Represents criminals who take advantage and use the system. The fact she allows it and doesn’t turn her clients to do things the right way, I don’t know how she sleeps at night.
