NOT RECOMMEND (My personal review) Romi Schwartz was my attorney after I specifically requested a super aggressive “bulldog” type attorney to the intake coordinator (I think that was her title) and then Romi convinced that she could handle this type of case. I did not hear from her very much. I did hear from her paralegal on occasion, but the communication was “patchy”, from my interpretation of things. In my view, Romi failed to thoroughly review the temporary orders agreement (drafted by OC) that ended up having MUUUULTIPLE loopholes in which OC took FULLLLLLL advantage, further costing me additional legal fees to try to find resolution (ultimately still not settled). I was charged for so called “strategy meetings” but if there was a strategy for my case, I was not made aware of what the strategy was and I certainly didn’t see any type of strategy, from my point of view. Also from my perspective, they let opposing counsel call most of the shots and then I was asked if I was ok with what they want (or we can’t do anything to fight what they are saying). Is this the strategy that I was paying for???…I’m not sure. They also charged a monthly 5% monthly “maintenance fee” which I’m pretty certain was not brought to my attention during the initial consultation. When my case first started, the attorney’s paralegal was on extended leave. When she came off of leave and back to work, I was charged for the time spent for the paralegal working on my case, during the leave period, to bring the primary paralegal up to speed after returning. Why is this a charge I should incur? It’s not on me that she went on extended leave. Some of the advice (and interpreted as legal advice) that I received came directly from the paralegal. I don’t think this is allowed and, from my perspective, certainly shouldn’t be happening. I have since changed to another attorney and I’m pretty much having to start over, which is costing me quite a bit of what I would have paid for if only had one attorney for the case from the beginning (speculation only). I complained to one of the managing partners and she defended all of the attorney and paralegal’s actions. I spent upwards of $10K and very little progress was made on my case, in my opinion. They offered me $185.54 credit for the so called “services” I received. That doesn’t even begin to cover 1 hour of the attorney’s time I am having to spend to continue to move my case forward with my current attorney. Upon further negotiation, they agreed to provide me with a $485.54 credit. I appreciate the additional concession, but it doesn’t help much with the overall situation and having to spend much more to pay another attorney fix a lot of the issues that should have been addressed more effectively (my opinion) early on in the case to mitigate the issues.
