I would give Mr. Durand a zero but it won’t let me. He in inconsiderate, rude, unprofessional, and a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!! I gave him a retainer and he used it up in TWO days!!! When I got my first bill, all I saw were he and his paralegal drafting documents. I have yet to see any fruits of their labor. When I call for an update, Mr. Durand is never available to speak with me. Before I paid my retainer, he answered all my questions personally; now I’m lucky if his paralegal can give me a hint. Nothing has ever been filed in my case with the judge and I am currently looking for another attorney. I will probably have to pay another retainer but at least I can finally get this over with.

My husband and I made our powers of attorney and wills with Whitney years ago. My family has known him for years. Since my husband has passed, my family has had a lot on our plate. We have to transfer stocks, file taxes, and get everything divided up evenly. What a mess Whitney has made of this. He would not return my calls or that of my children. I’ve had to do most of the work while getting outrageous bills from him every month saying he has been drafting documents. I had to print out the forms from the government websites and give them to his paralegal only for her to mail them to me and ask me to fill them out. What was the point of me giving them all my information and asking for them to handle certain affairs if I have to do it all? My son went with me to my last meeting with Whitney. My son asked what the next steps were and what his office was proactively doing to accomplish this and Whitney turned ugly. I have never heard a man speak with such disgust before in my life and I am only a few years younger than he is. He was insulted that we questioned his authority and started talking down to us. My husband would roll over in his grave if he knew how Whitney treated us. I have paid my bill in full and am currently using another attorney to handle my affairs. I have not had to do a single thing since using this new attorney and everything is almost complete. My bill has been a fraction of the cost as Whitney with much better results. Whitney Durand is no longer a good or honorable man. Perhaps he needs to retire and get back to the simplier things in life.
