Our family first met Michael in the fall of 2015 when it became apparent that our parents could no longer stay in their house safely. We were able to get our mother to an assisted living facility in NY, where I live. My father on the other hand was a completely different story. I was left with the choice of having to get forcible guardianship of him…not an easy task. Mike and his staff, especially Jill who was tasked with having to deal with my father, where able to achieve this for us ( he’s a hand full). Being that I live in another state it was very difficult, Mike guided me thru the legal process that was effortless for me, especially when it came time to go to court. As a result we able to get our father reunited with his wife of 70 years. They lived out their final years together, well cared for. Our dad passed in May 2018, and our Mom in January 2020. From day one this was the goal. Mike and all the staff made this a reality for our family. The professionalism and more importantly, the compassion of this firm could not be overstated enough. It’s 4 1/2 years later and Mike just finished guiding me through the will. He was there when this started and he was there for us at the end as well. Don’t believe a negative review that is based on a phone call that was not returned, believe it on results. Our family received the results that we asked for. I have to say I never write reviews but i felt that i needed to in this case and i was shocked to read negative reviews on Atty Hooker and his staff. I can’t praise them enough for their help with my aunt’s Medicaid & Estate issues. I didn’t know where to turn and i was directed to Mike by a friend and Jill responded to my email immediately as did Atty Hooker. He came into his office on a Saturday to meet with me the day after my email. We have been in constant communication ever since. I knew nothing about Medicaid or finances or how to deal with all of the issues that come with caring for an elderly relative. They were fantastic and they know all of the ins/outs of the Medicaid process and so much more. Do not hesitate to call them, you will be happy that you did
