Please do your research! I was in a bind and needed legal representation therefore I hired the first firm I spoke with.This firm is a scam, they make a bunch of empty promising they can’t deliver. Listen to all of the reviews from the past year! I spoke with Devon the paralegal my entire time with the Mathew’s group. On the day of the court hearing Josh Mathew’s showed up to represent me – note I had never spoken to him previously. He didn’t seem like he knew anything about my case, He said next to nothing the entire hearing and I was left to represent my self. Not only did he agree to have my case dismissed knowing it would be that much harder to request any reports but now it is nearly impossible to get a response from their team. When I requested a refund, I was told Josh would review the time he spent on my case and get back to me, not holding my breath. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Absolute disappointing experience. Although my situation was complex, I was assured they could represent in a modification order. It turned out to be nothing that this group could help with. After asking to have a portion of the retainer back due to the fact that my case was completely botched, I was told they would review my invoice. Months later I still haven’t gotten a response.

So never going through a divorce I had no clue what to do. I went to Google and looked up different divorce attorneys around the KC area and found The Mathews Group. I sat down and talked to Amber and she was very reassuring and informative. I went ahead and paid the full payment right away and the rest was a breeze. There was difficulty in the divorce but nothing to do with The Mathews Group. Anytime i had a question about the divorce Nicole was always right there to help. I hired Josh Mathews to handle our very emotional divorce. I was in a terrible financial situation and our case went longer than expected. Highly recommend. I have been with the Matthews Group for a custody case for my son and though the case has been rough was no fault of Mr. Matthews or his office. I found this office by googling and calling around and went with them over two years ago. Though my case was settled I have had to rehire them and was happy I could trust to come back to them. Michelle has treated me with respect and as a real person not as a client or a money pit. She hears me when I speak, she responds when I need answers, if she is unsure she gets the answer and calls me back. When I needed to rehire Mr. Matthews they reviewed the case to ensure my case was worthy of a trial and wanted to ensure to me they did not want to take my money if my case was not strong enough at this time. Mr. Matthews saw the other party’s untruths but understood my need for balance of my child for his time with his father and his limits from certain situations and worked with me to ensure the court order made those balances. I have also worked with Devon from time to time, not much but I do enjoy the friendliness of care I receive from her as well. I say care bc I don’t feel that I am getting “service” from this office, I do feel that I am receiving care from the staff and I feel that they care for my son just the same without ever even meeting him.
