Positive: Professionalism, ResponsivenessI have worked with Attorney Nelson Garcia for about a year regarding a child custody/visitation matter. I first retained him at the start of the pandemic (March 2020) as the courts were starting to shut down. This delayed things quite a bit however, he was still very responsive and able to navigate the system despite the closures. He kept me abreast of everything either via email or phone conversations. He even worked around my schedule and I was able to communicate with him many evenings. He was always very responsive even on weekends, especially leading up to the trial dates or for other important deadlines. I worked with his colleague Attorney Olivia Temmel for the scheduling hearing. She was very responsive as well and helped me prep for the Zoom hearing. I really appreciate everything from both attorneys, especially Attorney Garcia. I have worked with Attorney Nelson Garcia for about a year regarding a child custody/visitation matter. I first retained him at the start of the pandemic (March 2020) as the courts were starting to shut down. This delayed things quite a bit however, he was still very responsive and able to navigate the system despite the closures. He kept me abreast of everything either via email or phone conversations. My opinion is that unless your condition is terminal, the administrator is going to drag out the process, as was in my case, for years. After receiving my initial denial letter from the Maryland State Pension and Retirement System one week after submitting my application, I knew that if I was going to succeed, I needed excellent legal representation, so I asked my primary care doctor if he knew of any good firms. Andalman & Flynn, P.C. was his recommendation; my attorney was Mr. Peter Casciano.Should you decide to take this route, along the way, remind yourself that the longer it takes, the larger will be that first lump sum payment. When it seemed like I couldn’t wait any longer, I would call Peter to talk about my case. He is artful in adding his personal touch – a little bit of hand holding, which really helped. I quickly realized that I needed to protect my estate for my children and have my papers in order for the inevitable. Both my mother and I went to Mary Ellen and had our Wills, Power of Attorney and Advance Medical Healthcare Directive. It was because of this preparation that made it possible for me to get through my mother’s demise because I knew exactly what she wanted, and how she wanted everything to settle.Fast forward three years later: Mary Ellen Flynn represented my mother’s estate in a highly contested case. Despite her husband of 13 years signing a pre-nup and an anti-nup he sued my mother’s estate for her property. To add insult to injury, my mom let him stay in the house with no mortgage as long as he maintained it via a Life Deed Estate. Many days Mary Ellen had to talk me down off a cliff and her advice was always spot on. I quickly realized that I needed to protect my estate for my children and have my papers in order for the inevitable.
