Because, by paying Jason’s relatively small fee, we were able to reduce our offer by 3% and save the money that would have otherwise gone to a realtor. There is an old adage that the sellers pay the realtor fees anyway, so you should always have a realtor if you are buying. Not true in all cases. If you are buying a FSBO home, they may be saving by you not having a realtor.
