She is very unresponsive, you will go weeks without any information from her pertaining to your case. You will do all the leg work by leg work I mean compiling of the evidence and background work to prep your case while she sits in her office doing nothing, absolutely nothing. All she does is push papers forward. She will push you to do things you do not want to do. She robs you of your money for very poor and unprofessional services. And don’t be surprised if your in the home stretch of your case and she drops you for faulty or fake reasons. She just wants to cheat the system, obtain her payout, and then she drops you. 0 OUT OF 5 STARS!!! Margery Wakefield is the worst family lawyer in the state of Wisconsin. She is very unresponsive, you will go weeks without any information from her pertaining to your case. Critical: QualityWorst decision of my life hiring this person! I stuck with her for a couple years thinking she was building her case. Wrong! ZERO integrity! She could’ve cared less about doing what I hired her for! I would tell her every time the ex would break court orders & she literally wanted me to let it go & play nice. Worst decision of my life hiring this person! I stuck with her for a couple years thinking she was building her case. Wrong! ZERO integrity! She could’ve cared less about doing what I hired her for! I would tell her every time the ex would break court orders & she literally wanted me to let it go & play nice. She didn’t bother bringing up anything he was doing wrong in court. She didn’t bother getting me the child support he was ordered to pay! She fkd up my life! Now I have a real attorney that truly cares! Extremely dissatisfied. Margery was nice and sympathetic. However, Margery did not give good legal advice. She did not look out for my best interests in regards to splitting marital property or covering shared expenses. She filed papers and showed up in court. That was about it. Things would have been fair and balanced, and I would have been thousands of dollars ahead of where I am now with an attorney who paid better attention to the details.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueI recommend that anyone seeking legal representation from Attorney Margery Wakefield (and Sterling Law Offices) take Jenny’s advice to Forest Gump: “Run, Forest, Run!!!’Attorney Wakefield did nothing to represent me in my divorce.from the day she was retained in January 2020. If an attorney can not spell your first name correctly in emails (despite repeatedly correcting her), me thinks there is some major disconnect.On my initial court date via Zoom Attorney Wakefield allowed my spouse’s attorney to demean me and said nothing when my spouse and his Attorney came to court unprepared (did not have his Fnancial Disclosure Statement (FDS) completed). I had to have my FDS completed long before the court date. I actually had to speak for myself to the commissioner (although I was scolded by the commissioner) as Attorney Wakefield was completely useless and incompetent during the hearing.The issues with Attorney Wakefield continued through June 2020 and include, not returning phones calls and her voice mail box usually being full so I couldn’t even leave a message. Attorney Wakefield would push me to comply with my spouse’s attorney’s demands rather than protect my best interests.I finally suggested we mediate with my spouse (and since he refused as he didn’t want to pay a mediator) Attorney Wakefield suggested that she and I put together a settlement proposal to send to my spouse’s attorney( which was agreeable to my spouse per his Attorney). This was on May 21st and the settlement was was supposed to be prepared via Zoom the following week per Attorney’ Wakefield. The Zoom call never happened despite repeated phone calls and emails went unansweredWhen I complained to Sterling Law Offices managing partner, Attorney Toby Kinsler, I was dropped as a client two business days before my court date.Attorney Wakefield cited in her first affidavit that I had never paid nor signed the Docusign Lawyer-Client agreement. Both were blatant lies as I had two family members present the day I retained Attorney Wakefield. She was paid via personal check on that day and the Docusign was signed as soon as it was emailed to me.I, once again complained to Attorney Wakefield’s superior, Attorney Toby Kinsler, and the affidavit was rescinded and replaced with a new one citing a Wisconsin statue that her “client was being unreasonable.”I also asked that Attorney Wakefield be replaced with another one of Sterling Law Office’s many attorneys and was denied by the managing partner, Toby Kinsler.I requested my case file and a refund of my retainer from Sterling Law Offices and was emailed a reply that they would get the case file to me when they could. There was no mention of a refund…imagine that?I did have to represent myself on my June 9, 2020 court date. The judge was very reasonable and gave me a month to seek new counsel.If you are in search of a qualified attorney I would recommend anyone but Attorney Margery Wakefield and/or Sterling Law Offices.Good luck..I recommend that anyone seeking legal representation from Attorney Margery Wakefield (and Sterling Law Offices) take Jenny’s advice to Forest Gump: “Run, Forest, Run!!!’ …More
