In Wisconsin, currently, grandparents don’t have a lot of rights when it comes to visiting their grandchildren, for example, when their adult child goes through a divorce.In my case, I had to bring my daughter to court, so I could obtain grandparent visitation rights. This is something I never, ever thought I would have to do. Nor did I want to do this. Attorney Borns explained the current status of grandparent’s rights in the state of Wisconsin, and recommended a plan of action for me. He listened well and offered advice. He actively listened to my feedback on the situation and took my thoughts seriously. Mark did end up filing a petition requesting visitation and a hearing was scheduled. Mark is a huge advocate for mediation and having parties try to resolve their differences. He does not push costly legal proceedings on his clients.
