Bridget and the team at Shaw Law Group did an outstanding job of representing my family for our son’s complex IEP. She quickly became familiar with our son’s medical, therapeutic and schooling history. She took the time to understand our perspectives and what would be best for our son. And she represented us (both in communications and in meetings) in a way that ensured the best outcome for our son. I couldn’t be happier with results. Thank you Bridget and team!

Bridget was hired as a consulting attorney to determine the best school for my children. She took 9 months to basically do a phone interview with a handful of people, cost me over $3000 to do so , then came out with an opinion anyone could have made reading a parent magazine. My children are both special needs and I really was counting on Bridget to make a well informed, insightful, thorough decision. I am a teacher by profession so when I read her report I was devastated. She did not choose the school I felt and still feel was appropriate for my kids but I could have lived with that if she had really shown she had worked hard to come to her decision. We all really want to have faith in our legal system and rely on people like Bridget to take our cases seriously. When I take my kids to the doctor, have my car fixed, or even send them to school everyday, I trust they are with the best, most professional, hard worhing expert in that field. I am spending time writing this review because I’m hoping to prevent another parent and/or person from this experience. There are so many other attorneys out there who really do care and really will work hard to guide and council.

We had a legal matter with a local school and from previous reviews Bridget seemed to be the person to go to. We were not disappointed and from the first conversation on she had realistic answers for us about what would or would not work for our case, what we could reasonably ask for and how to best go about it.

We hired Bridget to represent us while appealing unreasonable disciplinary action imposed by a school’s athletic director. We had never challenged the system before so it was very helpful to have legal representation, direction and advice. Bridget was professional and knowledgable in the area we hired her for. We ended up winning our case and I would recommend her services.

Our family hired Bridget and team due to reviews and research online. We have been struggling with two of our grandsons IEP’s and defiance from the school in helping or even getting their IEP’s updated and reviewed properly, they are 10 and 7. There was bullying in which the oldest ended up at the Dr. office, a person threatening to “kill” him and consistent obstruction with his teacher. She would call him out in front of the class which caused more issues. The principle and vice principle were blaming all on him when in fact these issues where happening due to the school and the staff not conforming to his IEP from his previous school nor again updating in a timely manner. Once Bridget got involved and showed up to the IEP with us, things changed dramatically. She called out items I was not even aware of and held them and the district accountable. 3 meetings later with her in attendance at each we are in a much better place. I will continually update and keep her posted and on speed dial. She is just an amazing women and really in this position to help families and children and nothing else. Thank you Bridget !!

I sincerely can’t say enough for how much we appreciate the work of Ms. Bourgette Shaw on behalf of our son and our family. She helped us through an extremely stressful time with our son’s school. We felt she advocated for him as if he was her own son. She was so sharp and very accessible/flexible when it came to meeting times and email correspondence. We highly recommend her for educational and civil rights issues.

I hired Shaw Law Group working with Bridgett and her partner to gain legal advisement on educational law issues, and I had a similar experience as another person who wrote a review. I spent $400 on tasks I could have completed on my own or had already done on my own. They detailed what they did for the $400 I paid for services, which gave me a few new pieces of information but overall very little that I wouldn’t have already discovered on my own. It was only my second time ever needing legal advisement, and it subpar, where I’ve had much more luck with free legal advisement services and greater care/customer service. It seemed that they lacked the confidence to direct a case or advisement successfully and didn’t really want to be involved, but of course, they could accept money. I needed sound navigation advisement, which was not given, only that I was dealing with “good ole boy, good ole girl” education issues. That’s not what you pay legal advisement for, especially in a place where it is important to navigate culture and legalities. I received a parking ticket while on a visit to one of their locations, which they paid, likely because they probably already sensed my disappointment in their services. I was appreciative, but it just seemed to reiterate the wasted time and money aspect. I was in email conversations back and forth on topics, but would be pushed off because I had reached a limit to what they could do with what I paid for services. I believe the tasks completed would have been worth no more than $100-200 of their time at best. I would not recommend these lawyers as they seem to lack confidence and sound legal advisement for important situations, especially in areas where you are spending a considerable amount of money on education services where you need answers. Like in a previous review, I’m sharing my experience to help prevent others from spending money on services you don’t receive for the money you pay. With a few minutes on the phone in correct advisement, I could have done what they did for me myself. Disappointing.

I hired Bridget when my child was denied residency at UW. She was great to work with, really grasped the issues, and most importantly, we won our case.
