I’ve been a client of Brito & Brito for 20 years, and I have NEVER been treated so poorly. In 2020, Luis Brito not only filed my taxes incorrectly, he also submitted my tax return after the due date (the tax forms were completed in March, but he did not submit them electronically until May – because I called to complain or else the tax forms would never have been submitted). I am now dealing with penalties for his negligence to properly file taxes and file them on time. Additionally, Luis does not like to be questioned because in his mind, he is the professional and no one should question his knowledge. Well, he made a HUGE mistake on my tax return and we had to amend it. In 2021, I decided to give it another try and once again, I was treated so poorly, that I’ve decided to finally take my business elsewhere. Once again, Luis Brito insisted that HSA distributions used to pay medical bills were taxable and refused to review the IRS documentation – HE WAS 100% WRONG. There were several other errors found and addressed as well. If I were to file taxes using Brito and Brito for my 2021 tax return, I would have overpaid the IRS by thousands of dollars. DO NOT USE THIS ACCOUNTING FIRM!!!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueI drove to Miami, paid a garage parking fee so I could actually park, paid the $200 cash amount for the return to be filed, and I was provided with a paper return that was mailed the same day. The very first week of March!! What kind of professional company, in their right mind, does not e-file these days? According to the IRS, over 90% file electronically.Here we are approaching 3 months and I still haven’t received my refund or the stimulus assistance thanks to not filing electronically.As for trying to get any sort of help, I was told it’s a free country, when stating I’ll file my own taxes next year. Worst accountant ever. The guy said to us flat out that he doesn’t want to deal with complicated tax returns and we should file a 12 % tax return even though we should be filing a 3% tax return because he doesn’t want to deal with us living in one state and working in another.
