Despite statements claiming to have prepared and overviewed documents prior to meeting, the agent seemed very unprepared and unable to answer questions. A majority of the seller documents were incomplete or had the wrong information listed on them (e.g. dates were not listed properly on documentation, my husband’s social security number as well as my own were switched, mailing addresses were incorrect on every document including the tax documentation.) When asked why this information was incorrect when given time to overview the information beforehand, the reply was stated as ‘it’s been a very crazy week’ which I can understand, but it would have been nice if at the minimum ask the different parties for a later closing date to ensure documentation was correct. We were told that due to a mishap we were not able to close virtually as originally planned and would be charged additional fees if we were unable to come in to close, yet after coming in to sign the ‘documents’ we were still sent an additional document to virtually fill out. Due to documents being submitted too late in the day due to unknown activities as no real answer was providedto us, even though closing was scheduled for that morning, we did not receive funding from closing until the following Monday. We were told that a tracking number would be emailed to us regarding a copy of the documents that were being mailed to us which was not provided, and once we received them there are documents missing that were part of the package that we signed.

After using Burg repeatedly for a number of projects over the years, they seriously dropped the ball on our closing by repeatedly failing to file closing documents with the courthouse, costing us major headaches and substantial monetary costs. Not yet realizing they’d failed us, I enthusiastically recommended them to friends, who were promptly failed in exact the same way, taking weeks of hounding to resolve. So embarrassing to give a a friend an enthusiastic recommendation and be so let down. It pains me to write this, and maybe they’re still great for other services, but steer clear for closing services.
