Critical: Professionalism, QualityWas supposed to close on a house today at 9am but the night before it was pushed back to noon. Five minutes prior my broker called and said B&C had not received the payoff amount from seller’s mortgage company. Really?? They should have had all necessary paperwork the night before since the closing had originally been scheduled for 9am. We literally waited in the parking lot for 2 hours while our broker tried to ‘work out a deal.’ We live 30 minutes from closing location and didn’t get home until 6pm WITHOUT CLOSING. They are a RE atty? and can’t get paperwork in time. Was supposed to close on a house today at 9am but the night before it was pushed back to noon. Five minutes prior my broker called and said B&C had not received the payoff amount from seller’s mortgage company. Really?? They should have had all necessary paperwork the night before since the closing had originally been scheduled for 9am. Critical: ResponsivenessI used Butler and College for closing on my new home. After showing up 15 minutes early my wife and I waited 45 minutes before sitting down to sign our papers. That is fine, especially considering the COVID Climate but not something I expected to do on closing day. The signing of papers was quick and enjoyable as the attorney we worked with explained everything and made it a fun process so the long wait was easily forgotten.However, once there was an issue with financing (our mortgage teams fault not ours) the issues started arising. We were sent away and told we would be called in about 20 to 30 minutes with the okay to go get our keys. Well after waiting 50 minutes without a word from them we had to call and find out that the issue was not resolved. We were then told they would call us once it was. So we waited another 30 minutes before reaching out to the rest of our home buying team to find out that the issue was finally resolved (about 5 minutes before our call to them) and Butler and College had been informed it would be any minute financing would be approved. It took my realtor calling them 30 minutes later and demanding that Butler and College follow up on the fact that our financing issue was resolved. After waiting 30 more minutes she had to call them back AGAIN to have them tell her that we could get our keys. We waited about 2.5 hours to pick up our keys and received little communication from Butler and College. The issue was resolved one hour before Butler and College finished up things on their end. Through their lack of communication, basic customer service, and issue resolution, they turned what should’ve been an exciting day into nothing but stress and anxiety. We have never received any kind of follow up to apologize for what eventually became their delay. Our paralegal was Tammy Best and I would not recommend working with her. I cannot speak to the other attorneys or paralegals here.I used Butler and College for closing on my new home. I used Butler and College for closing on my new home. After showing up 15 minutes early my wife and I waited 45 minutes before sitting down to sign our papers. That is fine, especially considering the COVID Climate but not something I expected to do on closing day. The signing of papers was quick and enjoyable as the attorney we worked with explained everything and made it a fun process so the long wait was easily forgotten.
