Harsh and Judgmental. Went to mediation with family members – we all agreed we’d try to listen to one another and communicate better. Mediators immediately separated us, so no one was permitted to hear what anyone else said. Then the mediators crafted an “agreement” which we all had to sign saying we were going to communicate better. Older male mediator very harsh and judgmental – would not even look me in the eye. Middle aged woman mediator seemed to listen, but was relegated to a subordinate role. I guess it never occurred to the mediators that if we could communicate better, we would – simply saying “do this” with no help or guidance was not useful. Worse, the older man was angry, harsh, seeking to place blame. Very expensive. No useful results. Do not recommend. Have done mediation before, very different, with mediators who actually listened and tried to work with folks. Not the case here.
