It’s not just that he is extremely knowledgeable about estate planning laws (one would expect this from an estate planning attorney), but he has the ability to explain complex issues in a way that you can understand them without being condescending or patronizing. His manner is very welcoming, it’s clear that he really cares about you and that he will go the extra mile to make sure all bases are covered. He led us through the entire estate-planning process, took the time to answer all of our questions, set up conference calls with us and a successor trustee to answer his questions, and continues to help us even AFTER he had our check! It’s not just that he is extremely knowledgeable about estate planning laws (one would expect this from an estate planning attorney), but he has the ability to explain complex issues in a way that you can understand them without being condescending or patronizing. Positive: ProfessionalismLet me say that I rarely write reviews, but I am making an exception for this Law Firm, especially praise and appreciation for the attorney that took time to speak with me, Jonathan Osler (Jon). From the first step inside their Fredericksburg, Va office, I felt at ease and welcomed. I was not kept waiting at all, Jon quickly joined me in the conference room. After telling him my basics and why I was there, he quickly and thoroughly explained options to me for my estate plan, and I couldn’t have been more appreciative. He was friendly, yet professional and I was totally comfortable speaking with him about personal matters in my family dynamic. I HIGHLY recommend this firm and especially Jon Osler. After our conversation, I asked him for his card so I could have it obviously for myself, but also so that I could refer him to my friends and other family members who may need his services. Jonathan Osler impressed us considerably during our initial consultation to update our Wills. He reviewed our current documents and suggested language to make them more relevant to our needs and wishes. He spent a lot of time educating us about the importance of other estate planning documents, such as powers of attorney, advanced medical directives and HIPAA release documents. He also related that a recent law change in Virginia allows for Transfer on Death Deeds, enabling us to leave our home to our sons without them having to go through probate.
