The County Attorney is the legal advisor to the County Executive and every officer whose compensation is paid from County funds in matters involving an official act of a civil nature. The County Attorney prosecutes or defends certain civil actions and proceedings brought by or against the County, and participates as the Risk Manager in handling liability and casualty claims brought against the County. The Office reviews and approves all contracts involving the County as well as all bids and bid specifications. In addition, the office advises department heads and the administration on day to day legal matters.
