I paid him the fee he asked for and he dropped me as gis lawyer after my first court date in June even though he promised to be there for me in october. He did not care to help me or my case and when he found out who my baby fathers lawyer was he told me he was a good lawyer and pretty much sissied out and gave in and agreed to some unfair BS.. I had been through a really contentious divorce, and that was followed by a terrible and never ending custody struggle that went on for years. By the time I found Jimmy, I was exhausted, and emotionally spent. Jimmy is the first lawyer in 7 years of custody battles to ever take the time to listen to me, and everything I had been through. Jimmy was not just another lawyer who showed up on the day of court to fulfill his obligation after getting his retainer. Jimmy genuinely cared about how difficult this was for me. He spent time explaining exactly what was going to happen, and what all of the options were. He even checked in with me after court to be sure that me and my child were doing ok. He gave us the wrong paperwork to take out of state to take custody of a child with the intention to adopt. After taking her to the doctor, she was taken by DHS and we were questioned about “child trafficking” !!! Of course we were cleared, however his incompetance caused her to be shipped back to Iowa where we must continue our fight with all new lawyers.
