Several people told me that I should retain a lawyer when I was on Workers Comp. This was especially true when the carrier sent me for an IME. Many websites indicated this was a sign they were going to screw me over. Well, they did and I contacted Segar & Sciortino, whom I found on Google Maps as the highest rating. When they refused to help, I contacted Connors & Ferris. After a phone intake via the receptionist, I was told someone named Justin would contact me. Well, Justin called at pretty late hours and I missed his call. He left a message, but only left a 7-digit phone number. I had no idea what the area code was since there are multiple possibilities and I am not from the area. I called reception back and told them what happened, but Justin never called back. A few days later the comp carrier suspended me and I needed a lawyer. What a waste.

Nor did he request supporting documents from my physicians. Just sorta went through the motions. A year later I go with another firm and got approved for SSDI. Nice office though ♂️

Terrible to work with. First attorney said I shouldn’t retain a representation because I’ve already done all the paperwork and to contact them back if down the line I run into issues. Down the line, I run into issues, so I contact them back. Called in Dec, nothing by Feb, there’s “no record” of my call….except there is in my system. Finally get another attorney to call me and he says that “any competent lawyer would have had a hearing right away”; speaks volumes about your firm. So I fill out the paperwork so they can get my NY file. After two weeks, nothing. So I email the attorney to make sure they received my paperwork….asking for a simple update. 5 days later, still nothing. I call in, request a call back that day as I’ve been waiting forever to actually talk with someone about my case. The attorney calls back later that night and says he won’t take the case because I was “rude” to the staff. I guess being assertive, and making sure things are moving along after all the issues up to this point is “rude”. Whatever, I’ll take my case elsewhere. About the only positive to any of this is they recommended a great personal injury attorney who has been absolutely wonderful, unlike Connors & Ferris.
