There are attorneys and then there is Jeremy Saland.Jeremy became aware of my situation very early on and made contact with the police to discuss an allegation of domestic violence against me. At the time, the police wanted to arrest me and planned on doing so within the next couple of days. Unfortunately, domestic disputes, especially over child custody, can become extremely ugly. Even if an accusation is false, the police must make an arrest.Thankfully, Jeremy took control of my situation and was able to delay my arrest to make sure we were prepared. Far more importantly, after I did turn myself in on the false complaint, Jeremy was ready to speak with prosecutors who, after discussing the evidence with him, declined to prosecute the case. With Jeremy’s effort the charges were thrown out, I was released, and never had to see a judge.There is no doubt Jeremy’s experience as a prosecutor and defense lawyer allows him to get to the most important issues of a case and present a defense in the most compelling way. This is why I hired Jeremy and I’m so glad I did.

I cannot thank Jeremy Saland enough for convincing the DA to dismiss my case. After having a few drinks at a bar in NYC, I knew I shouldn’t drive and went back to my car to sleep. While I wasn’t drunk, I wanted to be safe. Because it was cold, I started my car, turned on the heat and closed my eyes. I never put the car in drive or moved from my parking spot on the street. At some point the NYPD came and arrested me for DUI after I refused to blow into the device. They also charged me with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle because of some unpaid tickets.I went to court about three or four times including for a Refusal Hearing at the DMV which Jeremy also beat to restore my license. Even though the DA made some offers, Jeremy told me to reject them. He argued that the spirit of the law was not to prosecute people trying to do the right thing and he was able to get a copy of video surveillance confirming I didn’t drive. Despite the supervisor’s initial unwillingness to agree, when the court adjourned the case to start a trial, the DA’s Office finally saw what Jeremy had been arguing. Not only did they dismiss the DWI on the merits but because I paid the outstanding tickets, they dismissed the entire case.Jeremy gave great advice, knew the law and allows me to keep record clean and career safe. If you can say “money well spent” in this type of scenario, there is no doubt that I hired the right lawyer to get the job done.
