Retained him back in November after my boyfriend was arrested for some pretty serious charges.. Gave him $5,000 and additional 1,000 for a petiton that would make his prior charge go from felony to a misdemeanor (prop57) …We were actually referred to him as we heard he was a “great lawyer” .. He assured us the case was bs and there would be no jail or prison time and that he could get a deal where he can just do ankle monitor and that the gang enhancement would not stick whatsoever because he was not a gang member and that he has went against the DA previously and he assured that he always wins.. since November every court date was continued.. the DA showed up a total of two times since.. here we are end of july for preliminary hearing (NOT ONCE WAS A NUMBER THROWN OUT AS FAR AS AN OFFER/DEAL OR ANYTHING 8 months later) when I say he allowed the “gang expert” and other gang detective to lie on the stand and never once mentioned anything credible or even put up an argument like he really sat there looking crazy and fumbled every word then sat down.. He not once challenged a thing either one of them said and once it was over of course the judge allowed him to be charged as a gang member… John stayed quiet the whole time until we stepped outside to then say that in order to keep him we needed to pay an additional $5,000 by monday which was the next court date to hire an investigator to continue on the case and if we went to trial $15,000 more but that would be put on the back burner because he has a murder trial that starts in 10 days ! Like really? excuse me are you serious ! He literally did absolutely nothing as far as representing him this whole time and when asked why he didnt ask certain questions that we had previously agreed that he would argue and court he played dum and confused like he just forgot or something then gets an attitude says you have a decision to make and walks away ! I STRONGLY ADVISE THAT ANYONE READING THIS DO NOT RETAIN THIS MAN HE IS CRUEL AND MONEY HUNGRY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY A LIAR !!!! WE HAVE 4 kids and the money used was saved up for business purposes not to waste on false hope. I am so hurt and confused and looking into how to handle this situation because this is just not right he hasn’t fought not one time he just wants money!!!!
