Legal Aid Office
Sealing and Expungement
Thousands of clients are evaluated each year to determine if their arrest record can be sealed or expunged under current Florida law. The FLJC team completes all paperwork and appears in court on behalf of the client. This provides a fresh start for clients to seek better jobs and housing.
Clemency Application
Clemency allows an individual to regain some of their constitutional rights lost due to a felony conviction. FLJC completes the petition to regain rights and files it with the State of Florida.
Driver License Reinstatement
1 in 3 drivers in Florida has a suspended license. FLJC partners with courts throughout the state to put clients on affordable payment plans and get their license back. While the legal service is free, there may be court costs and FLHSMV fees that have to be paid by the client.
Probation Assistance
FLJC assists those on probation with early termination and dealing with technical violations. Technical violations occur when an individual violates a condition of their supervision but does not commit a new violation of the law. Our lawyers will file appropriate motions and represent you in court.
