Made it clear before hiring that the last thing I wanted was to pay an extra $600 just to turn 4 points into 2 while still having to pay the ticket. I was assured this wouldn’t even be an option if I hired a lawyer. Additionally, I wouldn’t have to pay if he couldn’t get the ticket reduced.Gabriel never communicated with me directly, with his secretary sending intermittent e-mails. The day before my court date I was informed that by the secretary that Gabriel had negotiated a plea deal for my ticket… taking 4 points down to 2 while still having to pay the ticket. This was worse than nothing at all, because it meant that if I accepted, I would still have to pay Gabriel his full price. When I finally got a chance to speak to him (only minutes before my hearing) and told him this was unsatisfactory, he threatened to completely withdraw while only offering a 25% refund (curious where that other 75% would’ve gone if i pled not guilty). He also told me that the attorney’s initial plea deal was 3 points instead of two, as if it was worth his entire fee just to get one point taken off.This was the prototypical lawyer grift, turning a $150 traffic ticket into an $800 headache. Hired a traffic lawyer to help with a ticket. Made it clear before hiring that the last thing I wanted was to pay an extra $600 just to turn 4 points into 2 while still having to pay the ticket. Critical: Quality, ValueLets put it this way… A teenager did a google search about the case we paid him good money to represent and found out what the outcome would be… Gabe assured us that he could get a completely different judgement. Even made us call the DMV and demand for something that was unattainable then acted shock by what they said to us. He then kept going with the act that he could get a better outcome, only to be wrong again.
