Our closing with Gwynn, Edwards & Getter was a smooth and positive experience. We had an issue shortly after the due diligence period, having to switch lenders but Anita and Meredith handled the change with no interruptions to the closing. They went above and beyond to make sure they had everything they needed from the new lender in a very short amount of time. We have bought and sold multiple properties, and been at the closing table several times and I felt this firm was the best I’ve dealt with in making sure I was in the loop on every step, and making sure I had my closing documents and understood them.

Gwynn & Edwards recently handled the closing of our new home in SE Durham. Early that day, another law firm handled the closing of our old home in Raleigh. Yet that firm failed to act as had been promised to record the deed and transfer the funds promptly. Gwynn & Edwards attorney David Ahlers provided a “dry closing” on our new home so all was ready to complete our purchase when the proceeds were received. Yet complications again occurred with delays caused by the party who purchased our old home and the failure of the funds to be transmitted timely. At that point, Ken Edwards seemed to activate every resource in the firm to assist us. He made calls to the other law firm to ensure the needed corrective actions to resolve the delay were taken. Associates contacted the out of state bank to expedite the funds transfer. It seemed that Ken would have kept the office open all night to assist us should that have been necessary. We remain grateful for the assistance Ken and his associates provided, especially Wendi Berry. The legal competence of the firm is very much complemented by concern for the clients.

I have now used Gwynn&Edwards for two important life transactions: a house closing and an estate planning package (i.e., Last Will, POA, Living Will). Deanna Mosher assisted me in the estate planning package and was excellent: professional and knowledgeable. What I particularly appreciated was her double checking on a couple of my questions to be 100% certain that she was providing the correct answer. She also has a great sense of humor…an added plus when contemplating one’s own mortality! My home closing was assisted greatly by an awesome Paralegal named Wendy Berry– and it was executed on time and flawlessly. I would not hesitate to use them again if/as needed. The attorney who handled our Closing Process on August 28, 2020 at approximately 1PM, and who also provided our First Time Homebuyer-Closing Keys, seemed upset after we asked 2 questions on the paperwork. He then proceeded to slamm/throw (like a child would) our keys to us on the table in addition to doing the same with the paperwork and said “you just don’t have to worry about that.” Unfortunately this was a $750 cost procedure for us.
