I appreciate your enlightening and concerning op-ed in today’s VCStar. It is distressing to learn from your experience that current County leaders are unwilling to look at the ways our mental health system is yet failing the seriously mental ill among us. I served on the Behavioral Health Board in 2000 to 2006 including two years as Chair. It was during that time that we worked to get the MHSA Prop. 13 passed and there was some positive support from the Board of Supervisors to actualize its possibilities here. We tried to educate the Supervisors on the reality of how many of our mentally ill citizens fall through the cracks of our system and also the reality that for too many it is a fall from which they do not survive. Sincere thanks to you for your oversight and caring work on their behalf.

Strung me around for a week promising to call back but was always at lunch, finally call back and says he won’t take it but will refer me. His referral (if it even existed) dropped it with out ever contacting me and went through his assistant. If you don’t have a million dollar problem they don’t want your buisness
