Critical: ProfessionalismMr. Hance’s settlement company representatives were not friendly to me on the phone as we got closer to the time of closing, which was one week out, and angrily advised me that if I insisted on signing as my mother’s Power of Attorney (my mother, 88 yrs old, did not want to go to the closing because of the Coronavirus), even though I had her POA filed-and-NC-registered paperwork in my hand, two of his staff members rudely and condescendingly advised me that they would refuse to close for my elderly parents and would pull out of handling the settlement altogether if I insisted in my assertion that I had POA authority for my mother. They stated that my mother would either show up for the closing, or the closing would be terminated by them.
