I live out of state and hired Attorney Hardy for a child custody case I was dealing with. When I spoke to him he never made any promises but said what he would do, and he followed that up with action! Just because I lived out of state that didn’t hinder him from communicating efficiently, and keeping me updated on anything involving the case. He was professional, knowledgeable, kept my mind at ease throughout the almost year and a half long case that ultimately went to trial. When in the court room he surprised me by how thorough and precise he was. He helped me get my son! Attorney Hardy wasn’t like other lawyers I spoke with for a consult, he’s a man of his word and with that comes integrity. Being in Law myself I hold lawyers more accountable then the average person. He exceeded my expectations. If you need a lawyer for child custody I would highly recommend Attorney Hardy!

My family hired Hardy for me in my case. We didn’t know much about CT but they did their research and thought he would be a good fit. After 18 months of having my court date pushed back due to COVID, I sat in jail the whole time because I was not able to make bond. My family had paid Hardy in full and after that, there seemed to be no more efforts made after he got his money. I sat in jail 18 months, and when I finally got a court date, this guy didn’t even show up! I hired a new attorney and with him I got out on my next court date, on the same day. I would never recommend Hardy to anyone.

I highly recommend James Hardy. I got arrested over a false domestic dispute claim and of course was scared out of my mind. Definitely great customer service and professionalism. I am also very happy that he was able to get all three charges dropped. If I ever (which I hope I don’t) get into any other trouble, James is the one I will call on. Thank you so much for everything!

Very Unprofessional. I would call his approach “sassy”. Please beware and seek legal representation elsewhere. Attorney Hardy spoke to me in a condescending tone – credentials and “military status” are the only details that mattered. He is cocky without the experience and track record to back it up. Stated he has been in business for 12 years (in comparison to the new attorney I hired that has been in business longer than he has probably been alive). He needs a slice of humble pie. He was unsettled about the fact I never signed a contract and found a more affordable lawyer. Initially wanted to be hired at $3500 and then agreed to $2000. Told me “you can get a Chanel bag [from an avenue in New York] for $250 but the feeling after you buy that bag is not going to be satisfactory” as an analogy that the more affordable representation I hired was not of the same quality as his work. After I left my review he called me and texted me threatening to sue me for defamation! Lol. That should tell you enough!

I don’t usually write bad reviews, i believe everyone deserves a second chance but in this case i could not let anyone hire this attorney without warning. RUN!!! and dont ever turn back! These reviews have to be bogus!!! If your life matters due your research on this man and the truth always prevails. He is the worst attorney I have ever met. Unfortunately two of my family members hired him for representation and one of them actually had two cases in 2 different towns we hired him for. He was absolutely clueless and a joke in the court. So terrible we actually had to fire him and hire another defense attorney. His negligence actually gave the case more time than the actual sentence. Such a huge disappointment when you actually have peoples lives in your hand. I ran into plenty of people that he represented and theyre story is the same as ours. Hes a scammer and can not and will not be any help to any of your cases especially if its a major one. Ask around about him and I guarantee not one person will have nothing nice to say. Stop paying people for reviews! Complete waste of money. I dont even understand how he is still able to practice. Take my advice and find someone else.

Called for a consultation regarding a legal matter and did not have a courteous interaction with him over the phone. He seemed curt, scoffed when I tried to explanation about my situation, explained very little in regards to the divorce process, but was very quick to mention his processing fee. I even requested a date for an appointment for a formal consultation (because some attorneys will provide basic info and require a consultation fee) and he stated “There’s no need to even in meet in person, you just need to start the process”. Overall, the interaction was not pleasant dish out 4K+ for legal representation. If you’re a 1st time divorcee and unfamiliar with the process, I wouldn’t recommend.
