I have lived with my disability since 1967. I filed with the VA in 2019, as the separation interview never mentioned anything about the VA. I was given 60% and thought that’s all I would get. I contacted Hill & Ponton after my rejection for increased benefits. They told me that they thought they could help me. They did all of the work and now I have total and permanent disability status. I guess if a Veteran doesn’t get what they want from VA, they blame those helping. My experience with Hill & Ponton was very favorable. They were fair, honest and stayed the course with VA. There are some filings where the VFW or American Legion just can’t help. You pay nothing unless VA makes an award. If you want a lawyer to work on VA issues, here they are.

Positive: ResponsivenessAfter talking with Sara K. Hill, she immediately went into action. Hill and Ponton is a well-oiled machine. They know the process inside and out. Out of their own pocket, they paid for a service-veteran doctor who evaluated me over a zoom meeting. They had all the VA forms necessary for my case and represented me as if I was their only client. Because of their hard work, the VA gave me 30% disability. That was not acceptable to Sara! After a year of petitioning the VA, they paid once again out of their own pocket to have that same doctor re-evaluate me again. The assessment was given to the VA. Ended up getting my disability recognized on my own, but I originally approached them for help. I asked for them to be transparent on costs, knowing full well that they would get a portion. They said that they would collect more than legally allowed, and when I asked about that, they had a tantrum and cut off communication. I tried a second time a couple of years later, and since I had a higher disability rating than the first time, they wouldn’t even talk to me.
