Yeah so they left of income sections to show a lower liability. So based of my estimates doing it myself it paid off to use them but you can’t view the full filing until you pay then u paid found this error and their due amount was off by thousands of dollars.

HORRIBLE. Absolutely horrible. I only have 1 star because I had to but I would gladly give this location a -10. Not responsive. Very unhelpful. Gave them all of my documents and they told me I’d be receiving a call in about a week. Well 2 months later and 3 days away from the tax deadline the only response I’ve received is, “We’ll take your number and have someone call you back.” Throw the whole office away.

I had started my filing online with H&R Block but ran into some speed-bumps along the way so I decided to switch over to an in person filing to get some help. Once I finally met with my tax person (they were 10 min late) I quickly found out that none of the information I saved online had transferred. That’s a separate complaint against H&R Block and their systems, and not this individual. I could tell right away that this person didn’t seem very interested in helping me out. The conversation was awkward and they seemed hesitant to lead me down the path by asking me any kinds of questions. Eventually I was told it’d cost over $500 for me to file because I had some Cypto shares bought and sold over the past year. All in all I’d say my filing circumstances are very straight forward (save for a few bucks in crypto) so I decided it wasn’t worth it to follow through. I then asked if since I had already arranged my schedule to be there, and that this person clearly had time blocked off for me that I can still make the most of it and ask a “tax pro” some questions. I was told in a very dry tone that it was “all or nothing”. I recognized that this was clearly a statewide/company policy thing (I don’t actually know) and not this individuals fault, but I couldn’t help but share my frustration about the situation. Barely as the words passed from my mouth did this person quickly mutter, “sorry, have a good day” while turning away from me and putting eyes back on their computer screen. That’s it? You’re not even going to try and give me any other options? I understand that some things are outside of these peoples control, but customer service is customer service. Just because you “can’t help” doesn’t mean you have to be cold and insensitive about it. I’ll be struggling through self filing from here on out and I recommend that you do the same. Or at least go to a “real tax pro” and not these once a year popup shops.
