Our realtor picked this firm. Rather than ‘shopping around’ for attorney services, we trusted them to be reasonable and competitive. That was a mistake. Come a few days before closing and the prices and number of fees on a property closing were ridiculous. When our realtor escalated, there was no sufficient response and it was too late to shop around. Our realtor and lender both pointed out that they were shocked on the fees and the amounts. So we closed and I complained, they did not even have a permanent attorney there. She said she’d have the attorney reach out. Never heard a thing. Do not trust this office to be fair and transparent. The prices for title insurance were ridiculous. If they can get away with charging extra and more, they will try.

We purchased a home four years ago and used Johannesburg and Meyer to close the real estate deal. Now, here we are four years later and we are running into trouble selling our home because Johannesburg and Meyer did not file the proper paperwork at the courthouse. I would highly recommend against using this attorney for a real estate transaction. We purchased a home four years ago and used Johannesburg and Meyer to close the real estate deal. The law firm is what I call a paper pushing lawyer. They push the paper (contract) from one side of the table to the other for you to sign. They do not have the experience to read over contracts or advice contracts. They do not even have the experience to advice you on real estate transactions. I went to this law firm multiple times and every single time I have been disappointed. Every single time I had to go to another lawyer that was able to answer my inquiry immediately. I would not even use this law firm to close on a property. A law firm is supposed to look over the contracts and ensure both parties are treated fairly. If you ever call this firm ask them if they can advise you on your real estate contract or to look it over to ensure you are being treated fairly. Watch them fumble.

Bobby Sawyer was incredible to work with! He got my wife and I sorted when it came to our estate planning. Highly recommend their services. Also, don’t think you can do any of this on your own. Don’t fool yourself! Pay the money to have a professional guide you. It’s well worth the peace of mind!
