Not be confused with his father, which I’ve heard was a great attorney. Haupt Jr. was the Worst decision I ever made. Extremely hard to get in touch with. I used to have to try and physically catch him at the office to be able to ask even the simplest of questions. He just about never returns phone calls. I feel he takes on more than he can handle for sure. He talks a good game as most lawyers do but this one doesn’t keep good on the things he’s going to tell you. I could go on and on about my experiences with him but I’ll save that cause what’s done is done. As I said though if reading this do yourself a favor and run in the other direction, cause all he’s going to do is take your money and do the bare MINIMUM he could barely even keep up with the my court dates. I’d have been better off representing myself !!! If your looking for a great attorney and person as well Eugene O Byrne is the way to go. He’s always been my attorney and got the job done wit he best outcome as possible. I should’ve never took a family member’s advice and went with anyone other than Eugene !!! I’ll never make that mistake again!!!! James gives attorney’s a bad name. Hiring this dude was the biggest mistake EVER !!!!!! If you see this RUN !!! Do your research. Interview these attorneys. Make sure they have your best interest before you hire them. Jim is very unresponsive, unorganized, unprofessional and he shown me he do not care about his clients. He has too much on his plate because all he care about is money. Its quantity over quality with him. He take both court appointed and paid cases which is fine a lot of attorneys do. By all mean get your money but when you taking on too many cases and you start neglect your clients especially your paid clients and present poor work and that’s a problem. I paid him $1100 and had to fire him. I gave him the benefit of doubt, I was patient, I didn’t call and harassing or text him. I was very professional. He gave me no choice but to fire him. My final straw was when he reschedule my court date and never called me with the new date. He was suppose to call the next day along with setting up a time to go over my case seeing as though we never really went over my case much other then our initial meeting. I gave him until the following week because he may have gotten busy. He still never called, so I called him and he never called me back. That was it. Started looking for a new attorney immediately. I believe I found a decent replacement. I just dropped another $1000 on another attorney to take over my case and pray everything goes well.If you are actively looking for an attorney, please do your research.
