He is ethical, reliable and understands not everyone has thousands to throw his direction. Of course, it is his livelihood so collecting for his services must be a priority, but I never once felt that was his main motivation which is almost unheard of when it comes to any type of lawyers. Mr. Mueller is the only family law attorney I have met or dealt with that had real compassion and empathy toward my situation. He is ethical, reliable and understands not everyone has thousands to throw his direction. The first thing I would like to say is that I would highly recommend Jay Mueller to any body looking for an affordable lawyer. Now I have sole custody of my son, which is priceless! Some of us just dont have the cash to pay all the lawyer fees! Jay let me make payments after giving the retainer. Mr. Mueller helped me with my divorce case in Valencia County while I was out of state serving in the Army. He was great at keeping the communication and did everything he said he would do. I have known Jay for 13 years. He has represented my husband in his custody case regarding my stepdaughter who was the subject of an abuse and neglect matter. There are very few family law attorneys that I would trust – he is one of them. He is compassionate, but will tell you the truth whether you want to hear it or not. Jay became a lawyer to help people and make the world better, not to make millions of dollars on the back of those devastating events in their lives.

Botched my Family Law case. Filed the wrong paperwork twice. I did most of the talking because he forgot the simple background of my issues. Refused to give me Opposing Counsel’s responses and all court documents even upon termination. Needed to consult with others many times. One invoice in six months. No receipt for second payment. Used every penny of my retainer with nothing to show for it. Worst attorney I have ever had. If he didn’t know how to litigate my case, he should have been upfront about it, giving me a better chance at putting good money to work. There were red flags from the get go. If one of his friends (in other reviews) didn’t refer him, I wouldn’t have stuck it out. It would be nice to be able to trust someone and not be taken advantage of as a vulnerable single mom with a Special Needs child. He could have made good on his handling of my case but chose to keep my money and leave me to mop up his mess. Feel free to contact me for documentation of said negligence.
