Our family hired the Law Offices of Carol Bertsch to assist with Elder Law matters, following a recommendation from a family friend who is a Private Professional Guardian. From the moment we walked in, Carol made us feel welcome. We reviewed our concerns and she provided expert advice and guidance to ensure we put the proper documentation in place to protect our elders’ assets, along with advice on how to get them the help they need. Carol showed empathy and spoke with extreme respect and kindness to ensure that everything was completely understood by all parties. While legal fees weren’t our primary concern, we were pleasantly surprised that her fees were very reasonable and affordable. Carol followed up with us quickly with completed documents. We can now rest assured that everything is in place to protect our elders’ assets, as well as getting them the help they need. From our dealings with Carol, I believe that she practices this law specialty because she has a passion for helping families.

This was compounded by the fact that none of us live in Texas. Carol answered all of our questions and explained the steps necessary to complete the probate process. The staff at Carol’s office were informative, patient, responsive, and prepared us for all of the steps so we felt reassured. My aunt passed away suddenly and we were faced with numerous unresolved issues concerning her estate. This was compounded by the fact that none of us live in Texas. Carol answered all of our questions and explained the steps necessary to complete the probate process. My assessment is based on Carol’s treatment of and professionalism applied to my Father’s elder law needs. His Will was comprehensive. Her staff was patient with my Dad, thoughtfully accommodating several Will revisions. Carol and her staff met my Dad at this car to execute his Will, given he is physically challenged from an autoimmune disease. Carol left no question unanswered, prior to my Dad was confident all his needs were met by the Will. Also, I am an attorney, who does not practice Elder Law or Estate Planning. I did my research and called all my attorney contacts in Austin and universally, all my Austin attorney contacts referred me to Carol Bertsch. That was impressive. She is highly respected in her field (Elder Law) and her paralegals and staff are smart, hardworking and they really know their area of law. I’m not a Texas resident, so I was terrified to trust a Texas attorney with my elder mother’s case. With the first consultation, I knew that Carol and her staff knew how to position my mother so she could maximize her benefits (Medicaid) and Carol and her staff knew the best nursing homes to refer me to. Carol and her paralegal Jody are very respectful in their dealings and interactions with elder clients and they know how to educate their clients. I trust Jody and Carol so much, that I made a special trip to San Antonio just to hire this firm for my elder father and elder uncle.
