We also had Mary Ellen as a Guardian Ad Litem. She also seemed to be helping the BM in our case as well. BM was in the same boat as last reviewers BM. She did drugs, and slept around. She would tell her children their mother was the only one who loved them and that no one loved her at our home. Mary Ellen managed to find ways to ruin nearly every single family event we had planned with my husbands child. She would show up with the child’s Maternal G-ma and laugh with her while they watched us with the child. She was not objective at all. When we went through our 2nd custody battle we had to meet with another Guardian. Before the Guardian got there she was extremely nervous. She said she was nervous because of the Guardian she met 3 years before. We had to reassure her of her self esteem. Mary Ellen did a bad job on our case. She did no real investigating and seemed to be bias from the start. Our child finally received justice.

Mary Ellen used to work for the juvenile court in Knox County as a Guardian Ad Litem. She was discharged shortly after our case. My guess is that it had something to do with our case. When she came to the house to do a home study she was not very professional and told some private stories of her dealings with her daughter’s stepmother. (I am the stepmother in our scenario) She told me about her daughter acting out against her because she would not allow her to go with her father and did not like the fact that the daughter had a good relationship with the stepmother. When allegations from my stepdaughter’s mother started flying she did everything in her power to coddle the mother and even enabled the mother to continue with the lie. She would coach the child while “interviewing” her into saying these allegations were true. When a doctor practicing for 30 years who had a major list of accomplishments talked to everyone involved she said the things being alleged happened at the mother’s house Mary Ellen quickly changed her high opinion of the doctor. She even asked the doctor if they could write their reports together, as if to need to consult certain things. Mary Ellen sat in the court room with the mother during the trial and helped her present her case when she was only to be defending the child and not mother or father. In other words she was to be unbiased. She talked to the mother over 15hrs and never once returned Father’s phone calls. She even made visits to Mother’s home. We only seen her twice and that was because I had to work the first time. She never met with me and the child who I had been living with for 3 years at that point. She wrote her final report and said Mother was genuine, however Mother had a huge drug problem as well as sold drugs, the children were either not at school on time or not at all, Mother admittedly would not sleeping around and would not stop doing pills, Mother allowed her child molesting neighbor watch all three of her children since they were very small. She could not say anything nice about our close knit family where there was never a hungry belly, never any strange people around who could hurt the child. We did what parents do and that is make sure our child was safe, healthy, happy, and clean. Til this very day things are still the same only Mary Ellen suggested we be supervised and that Mother have full custody. This has been the outcome for 4 years now. Now how do you think that child is living? She even told the Mother to go against court orders. I would steer clear around this lawyer if you are a father wanting your child. She has helped many Mother’s play games with their children. The court finally caught on and let her go.
