According to Google, the average probate in Washington state takes 6 months to a year from start to finish, unless the will is contested or there are special conditions required to uphold the conditions of the will. In the following case, none of these apply. I have a very close family friend who trusted this attorney with the final wishes of his adoptive mother’s will, hiring him to be the executer of the will, not knowing this was an inappropriate role for him to even accept, according to others attorneys they have talked to since then. Now, 8 years later, this matter is still yet to be resolved. This family just wants an end. They want closure, and having this drag out for a almost a decade, with no end in sight, is truly disheartening for this family, but there’s nothing they can do. Please, be careful who you trust to carry out matters of the heart, because once you give them the power, that’s it! This journey has been a nightmare and they just want it to end, and unfortunately, they don’t know when that will be. They’ve waited 8 years, each and every year costing more and more of their inheritance in costs for letters being written, phone conversations being had, invoices and bills for services rendered being created, and for dealings with another attorney they’ve had to hire just to get things moving. When searching for an attorney, find one who will answer phone calls and respond to attempted contact. This has been quite difficult for this family, causing this family to have rather donated all the assets to charity, then to sit, wait, and watch everything the deceased worked for her entire life, go into the pocket of a professional who was supposed to be able to be trusted. It’s not about the money anymore. If the will would have been followed according to the wishes of the deceased, there would be no issues, but for some reason, things got twisted and misinterpreted, and I know for a fact, that this is not what she would have wanted for her son and grandsons, and it makes me sick to my stomach, honestly. Pray for this family, I know I do. I hope this helps even one person from living this nightmare, as well.

Extremely poor work ethics! I wish I would have done more comprehensive research in reguards to handling my family’s probate. Perhaps I could have found a reputable attorney that hasn’t been in trouble for misappropriation of funds!
