Michelle did not represent us, so we won our case without a lawyer or any legal experience at all. She did however, represent the other side. Michelle is so money driven, it is disgusting. We were disputing a step parent adoption because my husbands sons mother wants each new husband she gets, to adopt her and my husbands son. Michelle decided to represent her side (we assume knowing she would lose) with no ground to stand on. They flat out lied to the courts saying he didn’t pay child support when both sides had proof that he has paid every month for the 10 years he’s been on this earth. During court, the judge said “you can not be serious about this child support issue”. Their side said “we read the wrong paper” as if they had no idea they’ve received it his whole life. Michelle would bring up things in court that helped our case, rather than the side she was representing. Since the beginning of the case, Michelle has messaged and called my husband and me asking for him to avoid court and just give up his rights or they would seek more child support, as if we would give up a child to save money. The mother does this each time my husband gets a pay raise anyway. Would not recommend Michelle Rout!

Critical: Quality, ValueMy Friend hired Michelle in a custody case and I have never seen such an unorganized just bad lawyer. She might as well have been working for the other side. She is probably a decent person but seriously my friend had to do all the work for the case. Maybe for something cheap like a dissolution where she just needs to file paperwork she’s good but I’m telling you she did nothing she promised and my friend ended up giving her money and tried to hold out because she believed in seeing it through and she let her down and then some. Paid for shared parenting and still couldn’t even get that right. Could’ve been represented my son’s mom and gotten better results. Now having to pay to get the residential parenting set. Did absolutely no work on the case and in parts, actually worked against me. “She agreed that I claim my son on taxes and my attorney (Mrs Rout) chose not to add that in”. Hands down the worst choice I’ve ever made in hiring her. If she runs for judge, most likely there will be many mistrial.
