Patrick Kelley was an attorney associated with a law firm when my daughter was seeking a custody attorney. The firm had 2 partners and Attorney Patrick Kelley. Even though the firm partners was fully aware of our concerns of a complicated custody battle in court, they allowed Patrick Kelley to be lead counsel and handle the pre-trial and custody trial. The firm charged me $14,000 initially for the court custody representation (the firm was paid with money from my retirement fund). The trial was a complete disaster. Attorney Kelley didn’t make objections, he even was observed joking with the opposing parties attorney. His representation was horrible as a custody lawyer. He lacked initiative in presenting facts. The trial ended in primary custody of a toddler be given to an alcoholic drug addict. It was appalling to learn over a year later that Attorney Patrick Kelley was fired from the firm at the end of the day of that trial. I pray he does not do the injustice to others that he did in trying to handle a custody case that he truly lacked knowledge in. This post is written for the consumer’s awareness in hopes it helps others from suffering such poor attorney professionalism.
