If you want the most incompetent, rude and unethical attorney in the country, hire Rebecca Hicks. She doesn’t return phone calls, when you do get through to her she is very condescending. She will tell you you’re a waste of her time and that she just wants to be done with you. We had the misfortune of her being the attorney on a simple, 2 document closing for the purchasers of our property. She was not capable of doing it, she had the paperwork wrong multiple times, never contacted either of us regarding when the closing date was so we had to reschedule, that took her 2 more weeks to schedule. When we did close, it took her the rest week to process the money’s involved, highly unethical.

Highly NOT recommended as Probate attorney as we waited over two years for simple probate (only child) to clear. Slow to respond to emails or return phone calls; and when office assistant has surgery and not replaced with a temp, nothing got done for over a month until they returned.We even went to the Probate Court Office and was told she had not filed a necessary court document to advance the process. We notified her and a few weeks later she requested more Estate information to complete the document. Always has excuses as to why it’s taking so long: i.e. the probate judge had a heart attack and apparently Rhea County had no one to take his docket, so a 3 month delay resulted. The State allows attorneys to take 5 years to close Probate and Ms Hicks seemed to never be in any hurry. So I guess I should be grateful it only took over 2 years. She prepared my in-laws final Wills, so my wife thought Ms Hicks would be a good choice to assist in Probate. She’ll never make that mistake again!

It is impossible to get anything to court if using Ms Hicks. She has missed court dates due to 2 different “family emergencies”. After doing a quick look online, she has had this happen back to 2008.
