When Steven Jacobson worked for the Public Defender’s office he lived right up to the name “Public Pretender”. On our court date he was chatting with the District Attorney who was trying to send me to prison about corn in his diet instead of about getting my case dismissed or a good plea bargain. I came to watch one of his cases and he pretty much bragged that he lost the case and the guy went to prison forever. A real lawyer could’ve gotten my case dismissed or completely deferred, but Jacobson stated he had a problem ethically with my case and therefore was going to make sure I suffered when I didn’t need to. I Can’t imagine what world he must live in if he thought my case was too disturbing. Often I would see him roll his eyes when we were in court and I’d get done saying something to him. On the day of my sentencing he brought his son to see me and whispered; “See, son don’t end up a loser like this guy.” (I can hear really well) Then when it was time for him to defend me to the judge he actually said “Your Honor, I don’t believe my client should have to do any additional community service because, well I just don’t think it’s a good idea.” Now I’m stuck with a permanent criminal record and had to do 3 years of horrible probation because I couldn’t afford a lawyer at the time. Looks like he’s on boards, committees, made tons of money and went to law school, but he’s still just a tiny little balding petty man. (Napoleon complex).
