I’m going to be as honest as I can about my experience with Rainwater Holt & Sexton. My Car Accident happen in 2020 of September, today I’m suppose to get a settlement check almost 2 years later. I did have treatment for my injury for 6 months, so I knew my case would take a little longer to settle. It’s the way in which I was handled during the process that I didn’t care for at all. I started with one Attorney, and he barely communicated with me for a year. Out of the blue, I was switched over to a second Attorney. This was my first issue with this firm. Second issue with Rainwater, was that every obstacle I had with the Insurance Company, I had to resolve it. So in my mind, if I had to get every piece of paperwork from CPA’s, Insurance Companies, Doctors Bills, etc. Why would I need an Attorney to handle my case? I had to call each week to check the progress of my case as well. My last issue with this firm is once my settlement check was mailed to Rainwater. The Attorney told me that they had been having mail issues, and he thought my check had been lost. I was able to go to my Insurances App and see that not only had the check been mailed, but also cleared as of July 2022. This is before I was even given an opportunity to sign my final paperwork to receive the funds. If you had funds for my case 3 weeks ago, way did it take so long after I signed to get me the funds? I had to call pretty much everyday to get an update on when I would get my funds. The Attorney told me I would get a call to come get the check on 8/30/2022. I let it get to about 11 am to see if he would call me, no call. So I called, to check yet again, and I’m told my check was mailed. My question is when was I going to be told my check was mailed? Rainwater definitely needs to go over Customer Service with all of their Attorney’s, and demand that they all exhibit a high quality of Customer Service. You shouldn’t expect your clients to do all of the leg work and get 35% of the settlement. I basically gave up 20k, for Rainwater to submit paperwork that I had to go get myself. I’m definitely not pleased with how I was treated during my case. I definitely want be recommending Rainwater to anyone I know.

Laura Beth York is absolute garbage and a liar. All she did was waste years..even when my worker’s comp took away my prosthetic leg for almost 3 years, she did NOTHING, then blamed me for her office’s “miscommunication”. I spoke with the case worker she assigned me monthly and conveyed the situation clearly. Then when I had had enough and talked to her personally, maybe the 4th time in 3 years…SHE QUIT in early 2022. My workers comp still owes over 4K to one of my doctors that dates back to 2020. That doctor is now cutting off service untill the bill is paid. She is lazy and will not stay on top of you case, period. DO NOT LET HER REPRESENT YOU, SHE IS WEAK.
