He gets the job done. I have used him as a mediator for over 20 years because my cases get settled. It is a fact that both the complainant and defense have to go hard core on their position to not show their cards and because Richard has settled almost every case I have ever brought to him I have to assume the insurance defence attorneys think the same way- Richard gets us to the place where we both know is the right number to settle although we can’t show that number card to each other but let the mediator (Richard) work to get us there. I don’t think I or my repeat defense attorneys would keep using him if we both didn’t get the result we wanted. In the rare occasion we don’t settle our case, Richard takes it upon himself to keep calling us until he gets the case settled. He often calls each party before the mediation to learn about the facts and starts working towards a settlement before our scheduled date.Recently, a week before a scheduled mediation, he started a back and forth between me and the defense attorney to try to work towards a settlement. He settled my case BEFORE my scheduled mediation with him. I had a ton of things going on with my home life (baby) and work life so to have him settle a case without having to give up a whole day was truly appreciated. In fact, this is one of his best qualities- he doesn’t pontificate or waste time- he cuts to the chase. Because he gets to where I need to get to settle a case, my clients are always happy with the outcome when I use him. He’s always my first choice as a mediator. And I need to add that my clients are happy to not have to go downtown, to have free parking, plenty of inside and outside space to walk around while the process takes place, and he has a free snack and coffee bar and provides lunch with personalized ordering when we have a full day mediation.

Over the years I have used Richard in easily over 100 cases. There are so many reasons I use him as a mediator and the defense council always agrees to use him also. He is excellent at what he does, making sure the parties involved in the dispute, our clients, understand what is going on and feel comfortable that they are being treated fairly and he moves the mediations very efficiently. On several occasions when I had multiple cases against the same insurance carrier (hail storm), upon agreement by me and the insurance company, Richard would mediate up to 20 cases in the same day allowing us to close many files and get my clients paid more quickly than if we had to set each one for mediation on a separate day. If a case doesn’t settle, Richard will continue calling me and the insurance defense attorney to try to get the case settled- at no additional charge. Lastly, his office is easy to get to on 410 by Nacadoches with free parking, plenty of space for everyone to spread out in a comfortable setting with complimentary snacks and beverages at his coffee bar in his entry.

I really like my lawyer but his office is downtown and getting there and parking is a hassle. We went to mediation before our trial setting to see if we could come to an agreement before we had to go to trial. My lawyer agreed with the other party to the suit to use lawyer Richard Sparr to mediate the case. I was stressed about the day because there was a lot on the line for me. The environment of his office made the day comfortable for me and my wife. His office is on 410 near the airport. Parking is free and right outside the office. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Besides having our own conference room there was the office lobby, a lobby right outside the lobby, a kitchen area, a snack and beverage bar. I could step outside for fresh air when he went to talk to the other parties to the case. He is very friendly and the day turned out to not be stressful after all. The best thing is that my case finally got settled and I am very happy with the outcome.
