We had a sudden death in our family from Covid and needed help settling probate affairs. Attorney Schmidt patiently explained the process, and Wayne was exemplary in helping us through all the necessary steps. I was surprised that even though the office has dealt with a multitude of cases and could easily have treated us with indifference the staff at Schmidt & Schmidt were all empathetic with our loss. This firm was very thorough and very easy to work with. They walked us through every step of settling my mother’s estate. They also helped us work through tenant issues my mother had, and sadly protected us from our own family trying to make trouble. They were very compassionate in a very emotional time for us. I think I worked with every person in that office, and every one was very knowledgeable and very professional but also down-to-earth enough that they were easy to talk to. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueDo not use them for divorce mediation services!!! Paperwork was incorrect twice. I had to take my own substantial notes at the hearings and provide them with what they had done incorrectly. It was a lot!! Two different court commissioners expressed significant concern with what was presented and apologized to us that we had been provided with sub-par documentation. No apologies or offerings to make it “right” with us. They also charge more than other places in town to start. Divorce is hard! They will make it harder!! I would also like to note that I have actually never logged into Google to create a review but I heard their radio add about mediation services and felt compelled to warn others.Do not use them for divorce mediation services!!! Critical: ProfessionalismComplete joke. Explained numerous times what was needed. Had an appt but apparently only making a few hundred dollars a simple matter wasnt good enough. Schmidt wouldn’t help without the $2500 retainer. It was very frustrating wasting my time. Especially when his paralegal was not very professional at all.. waste of time.
