Sidley is an extraordinarily large firm which deals with some of the most complex legal matters in the world of commerce. I recently worked with them on such a complex matter and found their lawyers to be lacking the relevant information / background, and learning on the job from our exercise. This I was able to accept. I was and remain furious however given their insistence on processes and clauses in our contract which were useless and at best a waste of time. I am sure some of their lawyers are actually competent re the matter at hand and care about the client – the ones we worked with were horrendous sources of un-necessary and endless complexity which is rewarding for sidley and offensive to its clients. caveat emptor.
