Advance Directive for Health Care
What other states call a “living will” or “medical power of attorney,” Georgia calls an Advance Directive for Health Care. In this document, you establish your medical treatment preferences and appoint a specific person to make medical decisions on your behalf in the event you are incapable of doing so yourself.

Designation of Standby Guardian
If you have a minor child, your written will appoints a guardian for that child in the event of your passing. However, if you are alive but unable to care for your child for some reason, the will has no effect. A designation of Standby Guardian allows you to appoint someone with legal authority to care for your child in case of an emergency when you cannot care for them yourself.

We have experience representing clients with will caveats, objections to a petition for year’s support, guardianships and more. We can also help in situations of financial abuse by a power of attorney as well as the mishandling of a probate estate by the executor. If your family is struggling with these or other estate plan probate issues, contact Siedentopf Law today and we will help you sort them out.

Trusts
Trusts help manage how and when your assets and property are distributed. There are many types of trusts, some of which are free standing and some of which are included within your will. Any time you own property in other states or might potentially pass assets to others, especially a minor child who may not yet be capable of properly handing an inheritance, you should seriously consider a trust.

Really like working with Siedentopf. They are very good with explaining things in detail but in a way that the general layperson can understand. Pricing is pretty on par with others. Very attentive and listens to the whole story to provide the best guidance.

Sarah is your ideal choice when it comes to Power of Attorney and Medical Directives. She breaks it down in simple terms so you understand what your choices are. She is highly professional, prompt, and accomodating. She helped to put both my parents at ease and they were very comfortable working with her. Do yourself a favor and call Sarah today and plan ahead- I didn’t think about these things until her parents’ health declined suddenly! Sarah made the process quick and painless and we are so thankful.

My wife and I had wills and other life documents prepared by Sarah Siedentopf. We were able to conveniently schedule a meeting to discuss our needs. She was attentive to our desires for the wills and patiently responded all of our questions when reviewing the documents. We can attest that Sarah did a great job of making a difficult process of preparing our wills and living documents a pleasant experience.

Sarah was recommended to me by another lawyer and according to the reviews has also been recommended numerous times. This was a good start. During my process, I also had considered a couple of other lawyers. They wanted thousands of dollars just to get started and promised a lot of results, but not without much proof of their ability that they could do so. I also had learned on the internet that some of these lawyers get paid thousands and then do not work hard on the case or even disappear!

I hired Sarah to assist on a personal injury case, for which I am the attorney, that required the establishment of an estate. She quickly handled the required work, performed excellent quality work, and was pleasant to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend her to others and work with her again.

Sarah updated our wills and power of attorneys for us. She did a good job of helping us to think about exactly what we’d need – particularly for our kids- if something were to happen to us. We have peace of mind knowing that they will be taken care of by people who love them. Sarah was very professional and I would recommend her!
