I had a medical examination to reopen my L&I Workman’s Comp claim at a medical clinic in University Place, Washington. During my exam I felt that the Doctor doing my exam was being dismissive regarding my pain and physical limitations. I got into a huge argument with the Doctor because he didn’t seem to take my concerns serious, as well as my medical records, previous exams from my VA, personal Doctor’s reports, and specialty exams (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, EMG, and X-Ray). My argument for pleading my case was that the Doctor did not acknowledge my medical records, or imaging reports because he didn’t have my file, although I hand carried my own personal copies, with a brief snippet of my detailed injuries, and physical limitations due to my work place injury.After I walked out of my exam and was waiting to speak to the receptionist to collect my mileage reimbursement check, I overheard Scott Mills (law paralegal for Tacoma Law Group) speaking to another person trying to reopen his L&I claim as well. I waited outside in the parking lot to speak to him and ask a few questions on asking for help in reopening my claim. After a few minutes he came out and I approached him and ask if it would be possible to set an appointment to see if he would be interested in assisting me on trying to reopen my claim.A week later we had a meeting, and I was pleasantly surprised at his honesty and being upfront and direct about my chances of succeeding. We agreed to let his firm Tacoma Injury Law Group represent me. This was I believe in 2012, and I can’t begin to say how much I appreciate Scott. He has been very supportive, genuine, and extremely caring throughout the whole ordeal. We ended up winning and having my claim reopened. I had the opportunity of meeting Scott Mills by coincidence. I had a medical examination to reopen my L&I Workman’s Comp claim at a medical clinic in University Place, Washington. During my exam I felt that the Doctor doing my exam was being dismissive regarding my pain and physical limitations. Critical: ProfessionalismWe were referred to Ms. Clowers and team in October 2020 to seek representation for my Down’s Syndrome brother who was punched several times in the face (broke his eye socket) and abdomen by his care giver. We have pictures, police reports, and his caseworker escalated the case to the state.The paralegal, Mr. Lopez finally got back with us in Dec. and after we sent all paperwork, we were told they would take the case and would be sending the papers for us to sign. As of today, March 3, 2021, we have had to continually reach out to see what is going on, are they taking the case or not. After multiple attempts to reach Mr. Lopez, he again said the papers were coming. We even had to contact the referring attorney for help getting Mr. Lopez to call us back!Today, March 3, 2021, we received a call and email from Mr. Lopez that they would not be taking the case and wished us well.Ms. Clowers, attorney, has never contacted us and we are now several months past the incident.
