The district took my son’s transportation away and wouldn’t budge no matter how demanding I became or how much I told them he needed it. Needless to say I was completely freaking out and couldn’t believe I had to research lawyers. I searched the autism support groups on Facebook and saw that Meagan Nunez was highly recommended. This review is long time overdue since Meagan won my daughter’s case months ago, and my daughter has been benefiting from the brilliant and fair settlement agreement that Meagan achieved for her during this time of educational crisis. This was a very complicated case. The school district completely abandoned my daughter’s IEP, disregarded her complex needs, violated her educational, disability, civil rights, and to make matters worse – the District failed to keep my daughter safe at school. As soon as schools closed in March of 2020 – the District couldn’t care less of my child’s education or how to address her Iep needs in a proper manner. I knew that it was time to make things right and once again I sought Meagan’s support and expertise. Meagan developed an exceptional and a very smart strategy on how to get my daughter a restitution she deserved. In every meeting with the District, Meagan was confident and very calm, which helped me a lot to combat the stress and fears related to dealing with the District. The last meeting took literally all day and Meagan handled it with utmost professionalism and patience. She was calling and updating me every hour or whenever needed to share the strategy and to collaborate with me. This was the time when we had to make a decision on appropriate educational plan during the pandemic and what that plan would involve. Meagan brilliantly projected the timelines, finances and services involved when very few advocates and specialists knew or could estimate where the pandemic would take is. The settlement agreement that Meagan put together took care of all of my daughter’s needs, fixed all issues and didn’t burn any bridges. I could have not been happier with the resolutions. A special note of gratitude goes to Martha and Ally. Martha was helping me with proper scheduling of all meetings and was very accommodating and patient with me. The assistance that Ally provided me with, explaining how to submit paperwork to the District, could only be compared to the work of a personal accountant. I did it right on the first filing and never had any issues. I encourage you to give Meagan and her team a call if your child needs help and support of dedicated and caring professionals.
