Attorney Michael Hayes recently obtained a complete dismissal of an operating under the influence 3rd offense charge in Milwaukee County Circuit Court for a violation that occurred in October 2021. He filed a motion challenging the right of the West Allis police department to arrest me. He and his assistant Sarah Wheatley prepared a great motion supported by audio/video evidence showing that two officers illegally entered my residence and subsequently arrested me for drunk driving. The charge of refusing to submit to a blood draw was also dismissed. No conviction will appear on my driving record, I won’t serve any jail time, I won’t have my license suspended or revoked, I won’t be under the Ignition Interlock requirement and I won’t have to pay a fine.

I got arrested for OWI in South Milwaukee in 2022, it was the third offense. I’ve never needed to hire an attorney before, so I was pretty lost and worried, and didn’t know what to do. I asked my mom to look for a lawyer, she called one in Madison, who gave her a list of 3 who worked in Milwaukee who were highly recommended. Michael was on the top of the list, so I called him and he was quick to get to work on my case, and instructed me clearly on everything I needed to do so I could get the best possible outcome before sentencing. He was easy to get ahold of, always quick to respond, and answered any questions I had, walking me through the whole process. Because of him, we were able to get the whole court process concluded in about 5 months (which is quick), and we did get the best possible outcome. I received a 3 month sentence when I was facing a maximum of 12 months, and got the minimum fine of $600 (maximum was $2000). Michael also helped me transfer the sentence to the county where I live and work, and be put on an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet and continue working through Huber work release. Having never needed an attorney before, I was afraid it was going to cost me like $10,000 or more. His fees ended up being less than half of that; totally reasonable, especially given the outcome. I’m extremely lucky my mom was able to find him, and grateful for everything that he did for me, allowing me to leave this ugly chapter in my life behind and move forward. Also, after sentencing, he was even nice enough to help navigate my parents, who are not familiar with Milwaukee (nor good with directions or GPS), out of downtown, leading them to the interstate with his vehicle. And my mom is now his friend.

I would give it a negative one but it would be removed . Most of the reviews are fake. Michael Hayes not only abandoned me at trial as soon as I made my last payment. I got limited service at best. If you want to be milked out of your money, and led in to taking a plea. He’s your man. I hired him for a case I ended up winning myself without a lawyer.

Attorney Hayes kept me up to date with everything I needed to have done before my court case, making this a walk in the park for me. He got me the best deal possible, despite the city of Milwaukee pushing for the maximum punishment, I served NO jail time and was out on electronic monitoring the same day I had to turn myself into the house of correction. I didn’t spend one night there, nor taken to a cell.

In July 2021, Attorney Michael Hayes got a complete dismissal of my Milwaukee County Freeway Second Offense OWI charge after he successfully represented me at a motion hearing challenging the right of the deputy to stop my car. The judge ruled no probable cause, which led to complete dismissal of the criminal operating under the influence case. Great result. Great guy to work with. Highly recommended.

Mr. Hayes proved to the Judge and DA that I was in fact not impaired. Now that this looming cloud of dread has been lifted, I can finally live my life and move forward. My gratitude to Attorney Michael Hayes is enormous, words can’t fully express. While on my way from downtown Milwaukee to my residence in Dodge county, I was stopped for deviating from my designated lane. I was given four tickets including possession of THC (extremely small amount). My breath test result was over .15, so I would have had to install an Ignition Interlock Device for 1 year which would be inconvenient and expensive. Attorney Michael Hayes was able to conclude my case with dismissal of the THC ticket and no IID order. I could not have asked for more. Based on the result, his timely communication and his expertise, I would highly recommend Attorney Michael Hayes.

Attorney Michael Hayes got me out of a lot of trouble after I was arrested for two OWIs within a few months in 2019. The state wanted the judge to put me in jail for 120 days. Attorney Hayes did a great job of getting the judge to only order 7 days in jail. And he negotiated so two criminal traffic charges were dismissed.
