My family and I just recently concluded a nearly two year transaction involving a rather complicated sale of our house in East Hampton. The extraordinary length of time was a result of complicated permitting issues with the demolition of the house and a waterfront bulkhead. All of the ordinary procedures were compounded by Covid, but luckily we had Denise Schoen and her paralegal Astrid Edwards as our lawyers working on our behalf. Not only were they extremely professional and knowledgeable with all the timely issues that came up, but more important, they were patient and courteous when explaining all the details in coordinating the expediter and excavator involved in the completion of the project.The closing was quick and easy because Denise was ready and fully prepared with all the different documents needed on our behalf and was also able to quickly coordinate all the aspects of the documents from the other representatives present.We feel extremely fortunate to have been associated with Denise and would highly recommend her and her team to our best friends.

Denise Schoen is an excellent lawyer! I am recommending her to every one I know. We had a complicated sale with some past title issues and unusual circumstances with complicated permitting included with the sale. All this needed extra attention and had specific timing issues with permitting, not a usual straight forward sale. Denise handled it all, this during covid-19 . I can not express how great it was to work with Denise and her paralegal Astrid. They got back to us right away with every question answered email or phone call. On top of being an excellent lawyer she is a genuinely caring person which is an extra bonus in these very stressful times we live in. I can not recommend her enough, I would use her again in a heart beat!

This experience was awful. She was either preoccupied with being tired or sick, rarely responded on time, acted as if following what she was contracted to do was a burden and made a mistake that was quite costly. She refused to cooperate with the usual kinds of remedies attorneys offer to help resolve post closing issues. Not recommended.
