The absolute worst law firm i have ever encountered. Met with a lawyer there at client in-take to inquire about an emergency court hearing for temporary custody for a passport application for my daughter. We were assured by the lawyer that this was a basic petition and that our $4,500 retainer would more than cover the expense. The lawyer proceeded to draft the court documents and other documents unrelated to our request (full custody agreement, child support request) all in the attempt to erode our retainer which he managed to do coincidentally three days before the emergency court hearing was scheduled. we were upset, but figured we were already that close and it couldn’t cost that much more to just get the petition and get the passport. 36 hours before the court date, we were notified that we would need to provide an additional $7,500 retainer before he would go to court. We consulted other family lawyers and even had one review our invoice. All said the same thing. This simple court filing should never have cost this much. We fired the lawyer upon the request for the $7,500 so we can’t go to court and even get the document we need for her passport. We’re out $4,500 with absolutely nothing to show for it. Please do not use these people. Entrust someone more honest with your legal needs.
